Pete Best, the original drummer of The Beatles who performed with the band in the early 1960s, has announced his retirement from appearances and performances due to what his daughter calls “personal circumstances." A tragic incident occurred at the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as the roof collapsed during a live performance early Tuesday (April 8), resulting in at least 79 confirmed deaths and 160 injuries. Rescuers were attempting to reach around 100 people still trapped, with more than 300 individuals in the club at the time of the collapse, with authorities initiating extensive search and rescue efforts in collaboration with national police.
